Chemin des Cimes, sports association for gays, lesbians and LGBT-friendly from Montpellier and its region, has been created in January 2002.
Chemin des Cimes brings together practitioners of several sports (badminton, swimming, tennis, running, biking, volleyball…) regardless of their levels.
The association cultivates its diversity and has more than 200 members.
Athletes of the association are at the national and international sporting events such as the Volley34 championship of trails, marathons, TIP, TIGALY. The city of Montpellier has congratulated Chemin des Cimes for medals won at the 2010 Gay Games in Cologne.
Approved by the Ministry of Health, Youth and Sports since 2007, Chemin des Cimes is financially supported by the state and local governments. For example, we have the support of all our projects in the city of Montpellier, Montpellier Agglomeration, Hérault Sport and Languedoc-Roussillon. Member of the FFR, sports and gymnastics federation, the Collective against Homophobia and LGP Montpellier, Chemin des Cimes advocates for the « Sport against homophobia ». Our association supports great causes such as Le Refuge, fighting against the exclusion of young homosexuals.
The association organizes also, for its members, some sport and social events during the week and on weekends.
